I Kinda Have a thing for Pineapples

The love affair started innocently enough......I spotted this little wooden pineapple at my local Vinnies for $3.00.  It was cute and kitch.  I liked it instantly!

A few weeks ago, Ross and I were at Freedom getting Ideas for our little home reno when I spotted the little ceramic summer pineapple for $19.  A friend for my little wooden one? Ross rolled his eyes and shook his head, he knew what was coming.

I have since found a third, large olive green ceramic pineapple from Haven and Space in Berry.  So my trio is now complete.  But my obsession is not.

The pineapple is everywhere this summer, and I can't get enough of the spiky fruit!

Have you ever become slightly attached to a certain object, or trend?

New Ikea catalogue means......

New loves from IKEA

One,Two,Three,Four,Five,Six.

So, the new ikea catalogue came in the mail last night!   You know what that meant?  Husband cooked dinner and I poured through it like my life depended on it!
This happens every year without fail.  I just love that Big Swedish Super Store!
I love their design, I love that you can get dinner for our family of three for under $20, and I love, love, love their cinnamon scrolls!

I'm absolutely lusting over their new STOCKHOLM range.  It must play with my mid century design heart strings.  Clean lines, colourful and great prices as always.
Also that No.3, that little side table that was the first ever flat packed product of Ikea in 1955.  That has to be mine!  I'm thinking new bedside table?

Do you look forward to the Ikea catalogue as much as I do?

Loving, wanting, reading, dreaming

Loving, wanting, reading, dreaming

Loving: My brand spanking new Michael Kors Watch! I had been eyeing off this beauty for a very, very long time and well that husband of mine, he spoils me so!

Wanting: Chambray Utility Pants from the one and only Country Road.  What is not to love?  Slouchy? check.  Chambray? check.  Country Road? check.

Reading: Grace, a memoir by the inspirational Grace Coddington.   I'm only into the first few pages and already I'm hooked.

Dreaming:  The new link bracelet from Oroton.  I dream of this and my watch becoming fast friends on my wrist.  Isn't it just divine?

What's on your wish list this week?  Would love to know!

Spring Finds from Big W

Spring Finds from Big W

I am absolutely loving the new spring ranges from Emerson and Peter Morrissey which are both exclusive to Big W.

Both brands are right on trend with Chambray, Dark denim skinnies, polka dots and tribal prints.  And would you take a look at those prices!  All my favourites are under $40!  And the best part?  Big W now sells women's clothes online!! Shopping from the comfort of your couch and jammies? Awesome.

Head over to the website to check out the new range and get some inspiration for Spring!

Yup, a whole post dedicated to my new boots!!  These babies were delivered to me on Wednesday morning by a grumpy Australia Post Guy.  Just that new shoe smell was enough to brighten my day when I was already late for work, had a sick toddler attached to me (and therefore hardly any sleep the night before)

I think they are just about the perfect ankle boot!  Cool stud detail, buckles in just the right places and that wooden heel!  Love. And the price? I mean who could pass that up!

I can't wait to pair them with my leather leggings, or stove pipe skinnies and some warm slouchy knits!

I love winter!!! (mostly the fashion, not so much the constant rain)

What has been your favourite winter buy so far?

My Matt Blatt Wishlist.

My Matt Blatt Wishlist

We are in the VERY early stages of redecorating here at the Culbert house.
For a long time we have favoured the dark massive furniture from Balinese stores.
It is outdated and does not suit us or our home any longer.  We have light grey floor boards and white walls calling out for a mid century, light and colourful make over.

So, step in Matt Blatt.  I love, like EVERY piece in their collection.  I could take up residence in their showroom.  But fortunately for us, that showroom in Leichhart is closing down (they are moving to a bigger and better one in Alexandria) so we are heading over there tomorrow for their massive closing down sale.  I hope that everything on my little wish list is there and waiting to be snapped up.

I'll keep you updated on our progress (and our purchases)

A FEW OF GUS'S (MY) FAVOURITE THINGS.

A million years ago it seems, when I first found out we were having a boy, the only disappointment I felt (every other part of my was jumping for joy!) was that I was going to miss out on the never ending choice and cuteness that is little girls fashion.

Well, you know what?  After nearly 2 years of dressing my little dude I can safely say that dressing a boy is AWESOME!!!  No, there aren't the trillions of colour choices of little frilly leggings and dresses and headbands. Instead I have realised that  Boys clothes are cool and funky and edgy.

I have really enjoyed shopping for Gus in preparation for Winter and thought that I would share some of my favourite finds so far.  And they are all cheap and cheerful!

One: Moustache print Sweatshirt from Mango.  (Best and Less)  An amazing $8.00.

Two: Sock Monkey Beanie and Glove set from Kmart.  $9.00.  Oh my goodness Gus just looks the cutest in this!

Three:  Elroy Jetson Print Sweat from Cotton ON Kids. $29.92.  A bit pricier but I just couldn't go past the print and colour.  Plus Elroy was always my favourite on the Jetsons!

Four:  Print Leggings from Bonds. (Big W) $13.92.  I can't wait to pair these with a vintage tee and his high top connies.

Five:  Green High Top Converse $40 (from the Converse Store at Birkenhead Point).  I know, a lot to spend on kid's shoes when they grow out of them in seconds, but these were on special and they are high tops and Converse.  I know it is all about the moccasin these days, but give me an all star any day!

What have been some of your favourite finds for your littles?  I would love to know!

Dreaming of Mint

Dreaming of Mint

I have never been into pastels.  Too girly for my liking.  I'm more of an earthy colour girl.  But then I was introduced to the mint skinny jean.....and I am in love!

I don't own a pair.  I have put myself on a self shopping ban until I get back to my pre baby weight (slowly but surely it is coming off)  So until then I will dream of mint, and it will be all the sweeter!

Bec's Bridal Shower

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of helping host my lovely sister in law Bec's Bridal Shower. I wanted it to be girly and feminine and beautiful, just like Bec!

I made the bunting with pretty patchwork fabric.  Used all my own white crockery and vases. The felt hearts I got on super sale from a craft store after valentines day. I Bought some beautiful roses from a local store and made all the cupcakes and cupcake flags with my little sister. The final result was pretty and girly.  We had such a great afternoon and Bec got totally spoilt, which she totally deserves!!

The beautiful Bride to Be and Me xx

My Stunning Fabulous Little Sister!

Bec kept the bunting I made, took the 'I do' off the flags and it is now hanging in her gorgeous twin daughter's room :)

I CANNOT WAIT till her wedding at the end of the month!! And I am so honoured to be a bridesmaid and be part of her amazing day!!

I LOVE styling and decorating events like this!! I wish I could do it every day!
